  1. Data are expressed as group means ± SD. P-values were calculated from independent t-tests for all variables except sex (where a chi-square test was used). No significant differences were noted between groups, although there was a trend for greater lean mass in the Cinnulin group (P < 0.06). To convert glucose from mg/dL into mmol/L multiply by 0.0555; to convert cholesterol (total, LDL-C, VLDL-C and HDL-C) from mg/dL into mmol/L multiply by 0.0259; to convert triacylglycerol from mg/dL into mmol/L multiply by 0.0113.
